Port Hawkesbury Paper is currently seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team. As a Maintenance Planner for our Thermomechanical Pulp (TMP) Department you will be responsible for the planning, scheduling, and prioritizing of maintenance activities for the TMP section of our manufacturing facility. Reporting to the TMP Manager, you will work closely with the Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and Purchasing teams. It involves networking with suppliers and consultants on a routine basis. Relief supervision for the maintenance team will also be required.

Job Duties:

· Support all safety and training programs and ensure all safety expectations are being maintained

· Receive, review, and prioritize work requests and work orders

· Provide estimates for and plan/prioritize maintenance jobs

· Coordinate and plan maintenance activities for shutdowns, projects, and preventative maintenance

· Process material requests to ensure availability of parts

· Accrue and approve service invoices

· Provide support for maintenance emergencies

· Create preventative maintenance plans to improve equipment reliability

· Work downtime days, holidays, weekends and respond to call-in’s as required

Qualifications/Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a Trade certification or diploma coupled with 5 years’ experience working in a heavy industrial environment. Relevant experience in leading and supervising tradespeople in a fast-paced manufacturing or related industrial environment would be considered an asset.

· Technical knowledge and understanding of industrial equipment and components (i.e. pumps, motors, bearings, compressors, piping systems, etc.)

· Ambition, motivation, and determination – driven to exceed targets and expectations

· Solid decision-making skills
