The Department of Social Development is seeking individuals for current and future casual full-time opportunities as Administrative Services Officers in the Miramichi.

As a member of the Administrative Services team, the successful candidate will be responsible to provide a variety of administrative support services to the general public and all levels of staff within the office. Responsibilities include providing general information, responding to a wide range of routine and complex telephone inquiries and/or walk-in clients, and directing clients and/or the general public to the appropriate employee or resource. Work will also include: filing, photocopying, handling of incoming and outgoing mail, receiving payments, preparation of correspondence, data entry, word processing, and maintaining a supplies inventory. Other duties may be assigned as required.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Work at this level requires education gained through high school or GED, supplemented by post-secondary education typically a one (1) year program plus a minimum of three (3) years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Spoken competence in English AND French is required. Please state your language capability.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate experience in one or more of the following asset qualifications:
¿ Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in an office setting; and/or

  • Knowledge of conflict resolution.

Salary: $42,250 to $51,246 per annum
