The Centre for Academic Advising and Student Success at Mount Saint Vincent University invites applications for the position of Office Assistant. This is a 35-hour-per-week position that must be filled on-campus (28 hours with Centre for Academic Advising and Student Success & 7 hours with the Black Student Support Office).

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Centre for Academic Advising and Student Success, the Office Assistant welcomes students and visitors to the Centre, books appointments, makes appropriate referrals within and outside of the Centre, responds to in-person, telephone, and email inquiries, and coordinates all CAASS social media accounts. The Office Assistant serves as the primary web editor for the CAASS webpage. Additionally, the Office Assistant provides support to CAASS staff through data entry, filing electronic documents, preparing and sending forms to appropriate locations on campus, preparing and sending communications on behalf of the Centre, and assisting with other related tasks as required. Additionally, the Office Assistant supports the Black Student Support Advisor for 7 hours per week, responding to emails, coordinating on-campus events, and assisting with the promotion of student supports for Black students.

Qualifications

You possess a one-year community college diploma in Office Administration and at least two years' experience in an Office Assistant role. You enjoy working in a busy centre in a front-facing role, interacting with students and ensuring they are directed to appropriate supports and services. You have strong communication and relationship building skills and you take pride in your excellent organizational abilities. You are adept at using the Microsoft Office suite of programs and have experience editing webpages; WordPress experience is an asset. Designing social media posts is either something you have experience in, or a skill you are willing to learn and apply in this role. Importantly, you are committed to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility and continued learning and growth in this area. Classification: Full-Time NSGEU Level 5 Position
Starting Salary: $36,100 per annum (Step Progression: $36,100 to $43,102)
