In partnership with Meridia, Armour Group is currently seeking a Director of Operations for New Brunswick.

Role Overview

As the Director of Operations, you will lead all aspects of terminal network management, staff dynamics, and safety protocols. You will provide visible leadership, developing team members through effective mentorship to enhance skills and capabilities. Maintaining relationships both inside and outside of the organization and actively seeking feedback from customers to ensure their satisfaction.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the terminal network, including terminal operations, staff management, equipment maintenance coordination, and safety compliance. Ensure that operations are executed according to industry standards and regulations.
  • Assist developing and managing the transportation budget for New Brunswick, including cost control, and optimization strategies to maximize cost-efficiency.
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships with local businesses, suppliers, and potential clients to create mutually beneficial relationships that enhance the regional transportation network and warehousing.
  • Collaborate with third-party service providers, carriers, and suppliers to ensure seamless activity coverage to ensure customer needs are met. Negotiate contracts and maintain strong relationships to drive cost savings and service quality.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers and clients. Ensure their transportation needs are met and seek opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional services.
  • Ensure that all transportation and warehousing activities adhere to federal and provincial regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines. Implement and enforce safety protocols to minimize accidents and incidents.
  • Ability to measure operating results, develop action plans, implement and measure impact of actions. Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Newfoundland operation. Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Provide strong leadership to the New-Brunswick team, including terminal managers, supervisors, and administrative staff. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans for handling disruptions that may affect the operation.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in transportation.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
  • Proficiency in transportation management software and technology.
  • Knowledge of the transportation industry in New-Brunswick is a significant advantage.
