We are looking for a Quality Control Inspector to join our team. In this role, you will ensure the superior quality of our products by conducting thorough inspections and adhering to established procedures.
Shift: 7 day rotation
Hours: 6:00am - 2:30pm
Here's where you'll be focusing:
- Identify superior quality of product and communicate to Replenishment and Category Management teams
- Reject and document product that does not meet specifications
- Verify weight, temperature, size, pressure test, refractometer test, package and pallet integrity of product
- Verify calibration of testing equipment
- Request government inspections and facilitate sampling process
- Inspect inbound product according to established Standard Operating Procedures and specifications which includes random sampling and defect identification
- Monitor inventory by completing daily quality inspections; report inferior quality to appropriate team for recommended action
- Monitor CFC handling and storage procedures in conjunction with CFC Management (i.e. cold chain management and slotting)
What you have to offer:
- Experience as Retail Meat/Produce, produce grower/wholesaler or private produce or meat Inspection Company or related experience
- General understanding of Food Safety Requirements
- Strong understanding of quality control functions
- Strong communications skills (both oral and written) coupled with the ability to communicate with multiple areas of the business
- Proven experience working in a team setting
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environment and workloads
- Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask while performing under time constraints
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Available to work weekends (Saturday and/or Sunday)
- Willing to be trained and certified to operate a battery powered hydraulic pallet jack.
- Computer skills, email, attaching pictures to documents, iTrade fresh.
