The Office of the Auditor General, located in Fredericton, is an independent office that serves the New Brunswick Legislative Assembly. The Auditor General assists the Legislative Assembly in holding the government accountable by reporting on government's performance and stewardship of public funds and resources. The findings of financial and performance audits are issued in the Auditor General's annual report to the Legislative Assembly and through appearances before the Standing Committees on Public Accounts and Crown Corporations.
The Office of the Auditor General is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented professional to join our financial audit team. Reporting to the Executive Director of Financial and IT Audit, individuals will be responsible for:
- Planning, preparing and executing financial statement and other financial audits
- Preparing audit working papers and related position papers and analysis
- Identifying areas of risk and proposing workable solutions
- Liaising with our auditees
- Assisting with planning and reporting activities

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree and a CPA designation
- A minimum of 3* years of relevant work experience
Additional qualifications that are not requirements of this position, but would be considered assets are:
- Experience in public practice audit
- Experience in supervising and mentoring staff
- Experience working in a public sector environment
- Oral and written proficiency in French
*A combination of relevant education, experience and background may be considered. Experience requirements will vary based on applicable pay bands.
Written and spoken competence in English required.

Salary: Management and Non-Union Pay Plan, Pay Band 5 -7 ($63,700 - $107,328)
