GEMTEC is a growing firm with offices throughout Atlantic Canada and Ontario, and we are looking for a motivated and skilled Laboratory and Field Technician/Technologist to join our Team. We currently have an opening for Laboratory and Field Technician/Technologist in our Ottawa office starting May 2024.
The successful candidate will have the following:
Educational & Experience Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a college level diploma program.
- Experience with laboratory test procedures for soil, asphalt, concrete and aggregate considered an asset but not necessary as training will be provided.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Strong multi-tasking, organization, and planning skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Maintain a clean working environment.
- Possess ability to lift 30-50lbs on a daily basis.
Main Duties:
- Laboratory testing of aggregates, soil, concrete, and asphalt.
- Various office, laboratory, and field tasks related to materials testing, geotechnical engineering, and environmental engineering.
- Record test data and prepare factual reports, summaries, data sheets or graphs for interpretation of test results.
- Performing other related duties as required.
- Following all company Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
Other:
- 4 - 8-month position starting May 2024
- Must have a valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.
