GEMTEC is a growing firm with offices throughout Atlantic Canada and in Ontario, and we are looking for a motivated and skilled Field Technician/ Technologist to join our Team. We currently have openings for Field Technician/ Technologist (s) in our Mississauga and Oshawa, ON offices.
The successful candidate will have the following:
Educational & Experience Requirements:
- Graduated from a College Level Diploma is considered an asset.
- Experience with materials testing and inspection.
- Experience working with computer assisted drafting (CAD) and surveying is considered an asset.
- Experience working in civil construction is considered an asset.
Main Duties:
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in the following:
- Laboratory testing of aggregates, soil and concrete.
- Field testing and sampling of aggregates, soils, concrete, and asphalt.
- Compaction testing of subgrade soils, aggregates and asphalt.
- Subgrade and foundation inspections.
- Supervising a drill rig.
- Various office, laboratory, and field tasks related to materials testing.
- Other duties as required.
Position:
- Part-time/Full-time starting March 2024
- Graduate Contract positions March – December 2024
- Summer/ Co-op positions starting April 2024
- Must have a valid driver's license.
