We are looking for an Art Lead who is responsible for developing and communicating creative concepts within digital and print channels while building and maintaining relationships with both agency partners, internal stakeholders, and project leads. This position will require design sensitivity and the ability to communicate compelling stories to consumers while adhering to the brand standards.

Here's where you'll be focusing:

• Develop concepts and communicate ideas through multiple media
• Balance strategic development with brand business objectives
• Demonstrate expertise in InDesign, Photoshop, XD, Illustrator, and other Adobe Suite tools
• Contribute to project design and development
• Produce designs from end to end, from conception to final product
• Deliver high-quality web, email, and other ad designs while maintaining the Voilà brand
• Manage some photoshoots, retouching, and asset management
• Provide quality assurance of all creative deliverables
• Mentor and coach team members through project development
• Build and maintain a rapport with partner agencies and internal team
• Contribute to the innovative development of the creative department
• Attend group meetings, production meetings, and presentations where appropriate
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously and delivers on brief's expectations
• Support Creative Manager with projects as needed

What you have to offer:

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in Graphic Design or similar
• Strong design portfolio with at least 5 years design/digital work experience
• Experience leading a team of designers, production specialists, and copywriters
• Strong digital experience and experience in branding, typography, visual display, and design
• Ability to think creatively and justify concepts to team members
• Experience with strategic brainstorming, campaign development, creative brief development, and creative execution
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Proven aptitude for quick creative thinking with acute attention to detail within demanding deadlines
• A solid working knowledge of the latest versions of Mac OS, Adobe CC
• Understanding of Premier/After Effects is considered an asset
• Previous experience in CPG, E-commerce or in a digital focused environment is an asset
• Bilingual in English and French is required as the candidate will be expected to work with peers in other provinces in the development and implementation of tools and processes across Canada, as well as provide support to Sobeys employees across Canada
