DSS Protection is a Canadian-owned and operated group of companies, with head office based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. They provide lifesaving, environmental, and asset protection solutions to Canada's commercial and recreational marine and aviation industries. They have four sales and service stations across Canada, each with teams of highly trained, certified, and mobile technicians. Their stations are located in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland & Labrador, Québec, and British Columbia. On behalf of our client, we are currently recruiting for a Technical Sales Representative to join their team of dedicated professionals focusing on the Marine Environmental and Asset Protection Industries.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Technical Sales Representative will be instrumental in driving the company's sales and growth strategies. This role involves a range of responsibilities including, but not limited to, lead generation, client relationship management, sales closure, and coordinating sales processes both in-office and in the field.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute effective sales strategies in alignment with company objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Identify and address customer needs, offering tailored solutions.
  • Generate leads through methods such as cold-calling, opportunity identification and networking.
  • Cultivate leads through methods such as upselling, cross-promotion, and marketing efforts, with the purpose of converting leads to customers.
  • Efficiently manage inquiries and quotes to ensure smooth execution of sales processes.
  • Effectively close sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate with various company departments to coordinate sales activities and requirements.
  • Maintain timely updated and accurate sales and customer data using company Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
  • Provide post-sale support and follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction and address any issues.
  • Attend and actively participate in internal sales meetings.
  • Travel for client meetings and industry events, as required.
  • Stay informed about and inform The Company of industry trends, competitor offerings, and product knowledge through continuous training and professional development.
  • Other functions as determined by The Company.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in technical sales with a focus on complex projects and systems.
  • Ability to navigate and succeed in mid to longer sales cycles.
  • Familiarity with diverse buyer platforms including public procurement, naval architects, and engineers.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and other sales tools.
  • Results-driven with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to contribute to go-to-market plans.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for sales calls, events, and networking opportunities.
  • Post Secondary Education.
  • Reading and writing skills in French is an asset, but not a mandatory requirement.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to pass security clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid passport and be eligible for international travel.
  • Ability to adhere to Corporate Policies.
