We are currently looking for an LFP Development Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the LFP Technical Lead, our ideal candidate has knowledge of the renewable energy market, renewable energy power systems, lithium iron phosphate batteries and battery management system (BMS) technology while also leveraging a solid foundation in software and firmware.

They will also be responsible for communication directly with suppliers, distributors and customers on product support, discovery, and evaluation as required.

Location:

The candidate would be working from our downtown Halifax office, close to transit, food, and other amenities, or from home, per their individual requirements/desires. Being in or around Halifax with access to the office space is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicating and coordinating with supplier and distribution partners:
    • Batteries and accessory components
    • Supplier partners concentrated in PRC, language support is an asset.
  • Creation and maintenance of product support documentation:
    • Liaise with LFP Technical Lead, QC Management, and Marketing Personnel Internally
  • Technical customer troubleshooting (system and battery level)
  • New product technical evaluations
  • Keeping up with market trends, product launches, competitors, and opportunities
    • Competitor analysis experience and asset.
  • Managing software, compatibility, and communication of BMS systems

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with product webinars/trainings for distributors and customers
  • Assisting with production of product videos and marketing support materials
  • Manipulating and designing CAD files for manufacturing and marketing purposes
  • May include travel to industry events, coordination with new and existing suppliers, and communicating product details.

Education, Training and Experience Requirements:

  • Engineering degree (electrical or related) preferred, ability to register as EIT preferred
  • 1-2 Years (or Co-op semesters) of relevant product-focused experience preferred
  • Good communication skills
  • Good problem solving, troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Some amount of self-starting
  • Understanding of programming concepts, experience with Dart/Android/iOS an asset
