This is a front-line position that requires interaction with both internal and external customers. This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, accurately issuing PM tickets within Canadian Pari-Mutuel Agency (CPMA) legislation as well as processing rapid monetary payments using mental math to ensure accuracy of transactions. You will be required to learn and understand how to read a race program and the tote board, how to place a pari-mutuel bet, betting terminology and ticket price with the comprehension to teach customers how to bet in the moment. Key skills for this position include customer service, friendly demeanor, multitasking, attention to detail, cool under pressure, problem solving, standing for extended periods of time and the ability to perform repetitive tasks efficiently and effectively while following policies and procedures as laid out in the ICM.

Responsibilities

• Greet patrons and provide friendly customer service and assistance.
• Execution of Pari-mutual wagering transactions; selling of tickets on both simulcast and live tracks, redeem winnings, cancellations of wagers within the Canadian Pari-Mutual Agency (CPMA) regulations and legislation.
• Perform responsibilities efficiently and accurately within tight timeframes.
• Adhere to both the department and Internal Controls Manual (ICM outlines all procedures and process to perform daily job functions etc.)
• Promote and maintain the utmost integrity and highest caliber of guest experience and respect to patrons and co-workers.
• Maintaining guest confidentiality.
• Entrusted with company assets for daily operations; required to maintain and balance daily.
• Knowledge and execution of all marketing promotions, including handling of coupons/vouchers for discounts on behalf of Red Shores.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following Health & Safety guidelines as they are set out as well as identifying and bringing forward unsafe practices and conditions.
• Trouble shooting customer and equipment issues and other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
• Clearly communicating with guests and co-workers.
• Ability to teach and share your racing and job knowledge with guests and co-workers.

Qualifications

• Customer Service Ambassador.
• Harness Racing knowledge, experience, and willingness to be in barn areas.
• Strong organizational, time management and communication skills.
• Efficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel etc.).
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities.
• Critical thinking and problem solving
