We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Maintenance Electrician.

The Electrician is responsible to install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, repair and service electrical equipment and associated electrical controls such as motors, generators, heavy-duty machines, illumination systems, environmental regulating systems, communication systems, and associated electrical and electronic controls. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills to interpret schematics, drawings, and specifications logically solve complex equipment failure causes, and use timely repair solutions. You take initiative, display problem-solving and decision-making abilities, have excellent organizational skills, and maintain a positive, professional attitude in a fast-paced and changing work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, equipment, components and machinery;
  • Specify, source, and install electrical equipment and components;
  • Install, validate, and calibrate industrial sensors for accuracy and repeatability;
  • Install examine, maintain, replace or repair electrical equipment and components;
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment;
  • Assist with the development and writing of preventative and predictive maintenance programs and procedures;
  • Monitor, program and operate PLC and DCS control equipment;
  • Assist other trades and personnel when required;
  • Mentor electrical apprentices;
  • Other duties as required.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Industrial Red Seal certification;
  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial experience with preference given to manufacturing experience;
  • Ability to lead, train and mentor employees;
  • Strong sense of urgency in meeting deadlines;
  • Ability to handle projects with multiple work streams both independently and as part of a team;
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities;
  • Ability to meet physical demands including reaching, bending, walking, standing, and performing repetitive work;
  • Must be able to work in adverse conditions, i.e. heights, heat, and high-intensity lighting;
  • Critical eye for troubleshooting defects with a commitment to quality and safety;
  • Flexibility to work shift work as required.
