We currently have an openings for Field Technician/Technologist in our Barrie office starting April 2024.
The successful candidate will have the following:
Educational & Experience Requirements:
- Working towards a College Level Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Experience with materials testing and inspection.
- Experience working with computer assisted drafting (CAD) and surveying is considered an asset.
- Experience working in civil construction is considered an asset.
Main Duties:
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in the following:
- Field testing and sampling of aggregates, soils, concrete, and asphalt.
- Compaction testing of subgrade soils, aggregates, and asphalt.
- Subgrade and foundation inspections.
- Supervising a drill rig.
- Assisting in the completion of Phase One and Phase Two Environmental Site Assessments.
- Assisting field investigations, including supervision of borehole drilling and monitoring well installation, test pit investigation and surface water and groundwater sampling.
- Compilation, tabulation, and interpretation of field and analytical results.
- Field testing and sampling of soil, sediment, water and air.
- Various office and field tasks related to materials testing.
- Other duties as required.
Position:
- Student or Contract positions starting April 2024 (4- and 8-month positions)
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
