We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Data Solution Lead in our Enterprise Data Office (EDO) to support our Merchandising and Supply Chain Data team. This position will be based out of Calgary, Mississauga, Toronto, Montreal, Dartmouth, or Stellarton, depending on the successful candidate's location.

The Senior Data Solution Lead has direct responsibility for the design, implementation and evolution of data solutions supporting these data domains. This leader applies a "Data as a Product" approach to managing, protecting and growing our data assets in this space, ensuring that our data is ready to support next generation Analytics, Operations and business strategy execution

Here's where you'll be focusing:

As a Senior Data Solution Lead with Sobeys, you will:

• Act as dedicated Data solution lead for across Space Productivity data work streams (design of end to end solution, enabling data access for business and algorithm teams, delivery of data lake assets and processes, informatica DQ dashboards).
• Act as data solution lead on Space Productivity enhancements requiring support and integration of technology solutions teams to ensure all data components work together.
• Accountable for efficacy and resiliency of data solution end to end; including working with Technology Solutions owners to make sure data validation is in place
• Determine official sources of data and engage business data owners as needed to support Space Productivity.
• Mobilize data tasks to support Merchandising analytics and AI roadmap - specifically support Space Productivity algorithm (proactive data acquisition, cleansing , publishing etc).
• Triage data issues impacting execution of algorithms, identifying data owner needed to execute data correction.
• Champion data best practices among business and technical teams.
• Champion the EDO goals and guiding principles
  • Build trust in data and how we use it.
  • Establish and embed collaborative ways of working to accelerate our data transformation.
  • Champion the safe and scalable use of data across the organization.

What you have to offer:

What your resume will include and demonstrate to us:

• 5+ years of Data Solution delivery experience
• And/or 5+ years of domain-specific expertise
• Sound knowledge of effective data management practices (governance, data quality, data engineering, data standards)
• Understanding of Merchandising data including Article, Planogram
• Ability to collaborate with business teams to understand data impacts and define data standards
• Ability to understand and capture data requirements of algorithms; understanding of AI/ML and feature engineering fundamentals
• Ability to design resilient data solutions
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to drive joint roadmap with Business and IT teams
• Experience in Data Product Management methodologies is an asset
• Experience in Cloud-based data management platforms and ETL solutions such as Azure ADLS, Snowflake, Databricks, Informatica or similar.
