As an independent contractor and a member of an experienced in-field sales and installation team, the Direct Sales Contractor is responsible for providing superior customer service to our customers through both direct sales and home installation. 90% of sales will come from direct door to door knocking. Direct sales consist of the full sales to installation process – identify potential customers, sell them Eastlink services, install the services and on board the customer. Sales are obtained through referrals, relationships built with apartment building supers and owners, leads given from other channels, events such as home shows and lobby events as well as door knocking non customers.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-3 years’ experience in telecommunications field or an equivalent experience
  • Competency of installation and troubleshooting procedures for TV, Phone and Internet in residential and multi-dwelling units
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the use of test equipment; Signal Level Meter, Digital Analyzer/QAM meter, TDR, Fault locator, TV (frequency bands), toner for wire identification, butt set, test modem, DCT (understanding of the diagnostic screens), leakage meter, and VOM
  • Demonstrate the knowledge of powering requirements for active equipment used in residential, MDU’s as well as coax plant: active equipment, coax plant to the tap, TV, power passing tap, Multimedia Terminal adapters (MTA),
  • Ability to use applications/tools on a tablet and/or device to enhance troubleshooting capabilities
  • Working knowledge of passive equipment, multitaps, splitters, directional couplers
  • Security and automation installation experience considered an asset
  • Ability to build a rapport with the customer, communicating issues, explaining capabilities of equipment and understanding the customer’s needs and requirements
  • Ability to reach sales targets
