Definition of work:
The Clinical Dietitian I will be responsible for providing specialized clinical nutrition as part of an interdisciplinary team. This includes providing comprehensive individualized nutrition assessments, developing care plans, counseling patients, as well as, monitoring and evaluating patient care plans. The incumbent will collaborate with other team members regarding patient care, perform informal research and continuing education to ensure current and accurate information is provided, and best practices are incorporated into daily practice. Duties are performed with considerable independent judgment and initiative within the scope of policies, regulations and legislated authority. This position reports to Regional Director Food and Nutrition Services and will provide outpatient Clinical Nutrition Services at Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls Windsor and James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre, Gander NL. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.
Required qualifications:
* Successful completion of bachelor's degree specializing in Applied Human Nutrition or equivalent field of science as approved by the NLCD, supplemented by a 1-year internship and a Registered Dietitian (RD) professional designation
* Must be eligible or have current membership in the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Dietitians
* Demonstrated strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in clinical nutrition
* Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as, with in an interdisciplinary team

* A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position
* A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority
Preferred qualifications:
* Considerable experience as a Professional Dietitian
Hours of Work: 75 hours bi-weekly (Shift work may be required)
Salary: CG-40 ($39.17-$43.82)
