Jump Recruitment, on behalf of our client, Tiller Engineering is seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join their team in St. John's, NL.

A professional Canadian engineering firm since 2001, Tiller Engineering is a regional leader in structural engineering, inspection services, and project management and services clients in telecommunications, infrastructure, and energy industries throughout Atlantic Canada. TEI has become an industry leader in structural engineering, specializing in consulting services for infrastructure, buildings, energy and telecommunications sectors. Their services include design, analysis, asset integrity, project management, inspection and field reports.?

Position Summary

TEI Is currently recruiting for a full-time, permanent Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will work assisting senior structural engineers in both the office and the field, providing support for Tiller's projects in the building, energy and Telecom Industries. The new team member will be responsible for consulting directly with clients to ensure steady deliverables on engineering projects. As a small firm, there are opportunities to grow and advance quickly within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop engineering analysis, design, specifications, and drawings.
  • Site visits to obtain information for designs.
  • Field surveys and inspections.
  • Completion of detailed inspection reports.
  • Check and review designs ad drawings by other employees.
  • Operate computer aided design (CAD) and drafting workstations.
  • Examine structures and advise on measures taken to improve structural integrity.
  • Work with other designers and clients to develop safe designs.
  • Working with construction contractors to ensure buildings constructed are in accordance with industry and design standards.
  • Use of various types of software and programs.
  • Attend production and industry meetings with the Team.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Structural/Civil Engineering
  • P.Eng Classified.
  • 8+ years' experience as a structural engineer.

Salary:

$85,000-$110,000 per year.

  • 3 weeks' vacation

Schedule/Office:

  • Full time, Monday through Friday, some work outside regular workday hours may be required at times.
  • Wil require some travel within Atlantic Canada.
  • TEI is headquartered in St. John's, NL. If the successful candidate is based in Nova Scotia, office space will be provided.
