Purpose of Position:
As a Data Engineer, you will assume the responsibility to design, build and deliver data platforms/pipelines; from inception/design to implementation. Your role will involve providing expertise and architectural input to ensure optimized data delivery. Additionally, you will be instrumental in developing and sustaining frameworks and applications for efficient data search and retrieval. Your contributions will play a key role in shaping Jazz' future in data analytics, with a particular emphasis on cloud-based data retrieval and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for efficient data processing.
- Implement and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure data quality and integrity.
- Utilize cloud technologies to process and analyze datasets.
- Develop and maintain database architectures, including data modeling and schema design.
- Implement data security and privacy measures to safeguard sensitive information.
- Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in data engineering for continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance tuning and optimization of data storage and retrieval processes.
- Build and maintain secure and compliant data processing pipelines by using different tools and techniques.
- Identify the top cloud architecture solutions to successfully meet the needs of the company.
- Collaborating with other stakeholders to execute the data strategy.
- Work with data analysts in business units to use the reporting/analytical tools available.
- Diagnose and resolve issues that impact data processing, integrity, or performance.
- Perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety, and the safety of co-workers and customers.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- University degree in computer science, math, engineering, or business degree with focus on data science.
- Minimum 10 years' experience within systems design, development, installation, and modification in an online environment.
- Experience in unit and integration testing.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in working with data pipelines and data preparation.
- Experience with structured design, development, and implementation of new computing architectures.
- Strong system analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with traditional RDBMS.
- Excellent verbal and written communication
