Purpose of Position:

Reporting to Supervisor, Commercial Operations, the Air Passenger Protection Regulations (APPR) Researcher will be responsible for investigating all (APPR) claims on Jazz flights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the APPR Specialists on all CTA/Legal inquires received.
  • Analyze, investigate, and interpret flight operational data from multiple sources.
  • Coordinate with Jazz Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on research related to APPR requests.
  • As required provide the Supervisor, Commercial Operations and APPR Specialists ,updates on claims.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Air Canada Customer relations for all APPR request.
  • Build and maintain a strong working relationship with Air Canada Legal and Mission Resolution Analysts (MRAs).
  • Perform duties in accordance with established policies, procedures and regulation while giving primary consideration to personal safety, and the safety of co-workers and customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • College/University Degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Minimum 5 years Airline experience; within Operations is preferred.
  • Understanding of Air Passenger Protection Regulations (APPR) and other air travel regulations is considered an asset.
  • Experience with dealing with government and or regulatory compliance is considered an asset.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to interpret and assimilate technical/statutory terms into easy-to-understand terms across the department's customer base (internal/external).
  • Strong knowledge of Movement Control and Movement Control Reports.
  • Strong knowledge of Airline Operations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as strong analytical skills.
  • Strong ability to work well under pressure in a team environment.
  • Strong organization and time management skills, with the ability to manage a multi-task workload.
  • Attentive to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite of programs including Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive.
  • Ability to prioritize own work and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Altéa, Operations Excellence BI Tool, NetLine, Smart COMM.is considered an asset.
