As a Warehouse Operations Leader, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day activities of our main warehouse in Saint John, NB with influence on processes and direction for our other warehouses throughout the country. You will lead a team of Warehouse personnel, ensuring seamless operations, efficient inventory management, and a commitment to safety standards.
Your responsibilities will include optimizing workflow processes, implementing quality control measures, inventory/ cycle count processes and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The Warehouse Operations Lead will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage the flow of goods and projects through our distribution centre, and contribute to the overall success of our supply chain.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Lead and motivate the warehouse team to achieve operational goals.
- Implement and maintain inventory management systems for accurate tracking.
- Develop and optimize efficient warehouse processes to minimize operational costs.
- Ensure accuracy in shipments.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with procurement, sales, and construction to optimize supply chain efforts.
- Oversight and active participation in inventory and cycle counts nationally.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance overall efficiency nationally.
- Travel to our warehouses across the country to implement workflow process and to assist in inventory management. The successful applicant will be required to maintain up-to-date travel documentation for travel within Canada.
Suitable candidates will meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business, Logistics, or a related field will be considered an asset.
- 5 or more years of warehouse or operations experience.
- 2 or more years of supervisory experience.
- Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar role.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in inventory management software and systems.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
- A great understanding of inventory counts, and cycle counts processes.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
