Trades Worker IE - Carpenter (Journeyperson)

Location: Labrador Health Center, Goose Bay, NL

Reporting to the Regional Director of Physical Infrastructure Support through the Team Lead Supervisor, the primary purpose of this position is to provide a wide variety of Carpentry maintenance tasks for the technical based infrastructure in the Labrador Health Center and other surrounding facilities in Goose Bay, NL.
Qualifications:
" Graduation from high school or equivalent;
" Completion of a Journeyperson level certificate in the Carpentry discipline;
" Two years experience in public building maintenance preferred.
" Experience in using a computerized work order system;
" Valid class V driver's license;
" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory Certificate of Conduct.
Duties: (Included but not limited to)
" Performs a variety of maintenance, repairs, installation and troubleshooting carpentry related items within the Labrador Health Centre and other sites as required;
" Requires a good knowledge of the National Building Codes of Canada;
" Works with some independence and may be required to perform complex tasks related to their expertise;
" Responsible for the storage and assignment of tools and ordering of inventory and required supplies;
" Required to assists other trades people and maintenance activities as required;
" Aligns, adjusts and calibrates equipment according to specifications;
" Be willing to work overtime and on-call as needed;
" Performs other related duties as required.
Salary:
" CG-29 of the NAPE-HS salary scales: $26.54 - $29.48 per hour plus the applicable Labrador Allowance
Hours of Work:
" 75 hours Bi-weekly; variable shifts.
