Labrador-Grenfell Health is an integrated health authority in Newfoundland and Labrador, employing approximately 1,500 dedicated employees and providing quality health and community services to a population of 37,000 people. The authority operates twenty-two facilities, including three hospitals, three community health centers, 14 community clinics and two long-term care facilities in Northern Newfoundland and Labrador. In the Indigenous communities, Labrador-Grenfell Health is joined by the Nunatsiavut Government, two Innu Band Councils, NunatuKavut, Health Canada and private practitioners in delivering community health programs that meet the health needs of residents.

Reporting to the Manager of Mental Health and Addictions Services, this is a highly responsible and specialized position. The primary purpose of this position is to identify and coordinate services for individuals living with severe and persistent mental illness. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying and providing education and awareness initiatives on a variety of topics, specifically stigma. The incumbent will function as a member of an interdisciplinary team which provides a range of mental health and addiction services.

Qualifications:
" Bachelor of Social Work
" Minimum 2 years' experience in individual, family and group counseling, and community capacity building;
" Clinical education and experience pertinent to the mental/addictions health needs of individuals, families and communities;
" Experience in the development and delivery of education and training programs;
" Strong analytical, facilitation, written and oral communication skills;
" Eligibility for registration with the NLCSW;
" Valid driver's license
" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.

Duties: (Included but not limited to)
" Provides intake/screening, assessments and intensive treatment and intervention in the context of an interdisciplinary team;
" Provides crisis intervention and management, invoking Mental Health Care and Treatment Act provisions as required;
" Develops and facilitates education sessions related to Mental Health Care and Treatment Act;
" Provides counseling to clients, including concurrent disorder and psychiatric rehabilitation;
" Monitors clients for medications & treatment compliance;
" Assumes a leadership role in discharge planning for current clients/inpatients;
" Completes accurate and timely clinical documentation through the Client Referral Management System;
" Develops and facilitates linkages between provincial, regional and community based resources and identified community mental health needs;
" Provides consultative services to and works in collaboration with health care providers and a variety of Provincial and Federal Government Departments to provide mental health services;
" Facilitates educational and training sessions to internal and internal and external partners as required;
" Maintains a specialized level of knowledge and skill pertaining to cultural issues and mental health addictions treatment;
" Participates in service planning as part of the interdisciplinary team;
" Participates in clinical supervision and continuous quality improvement initiatives;
" Other related duties as required, travel may be required, may be required to work alone.
Salary:
" NAPE-HP, CG-39 salary scale; $37.20 to 41.63 per hour, plus the applicable Labrador Allowance.

Hours of Work:

" Hours of work will follow the flexible work schedule in accordance with article 19.01(a) of the NAPE-HP Collective Agreement based on 75 hours bi-weekly (by mutual agreement).
