Labrador Grenfell Health requires a dynamic Manager of Patient Services to provide creative leadership, support, and direction to the Inpatient Unit at the Labrador Health Centre. The ideal candidate is a proven leader with excellent leadership, communication, planning and organizational skills, a critical thinker with experience in quality improvement and risk management initiatives to promote optimal delivery of client care. The Manager of Patient Services is responsible for providing day-to-day leadership and direction to the staff of the Inpatient Unit. The candidate must possess computer skills including Microsoft word, power point, and excel databases and spreadsheets. Other duties include financial accountability, policy and standard development, and Human Resource management. This position reports to the Regional Director of Acute Care.

Qualifications:
" A baccalaureate prepared graduate of a health care related discipline with registration through a provincial regulatory body.
" A minimum of five (5) years' experience as a registered heath care provider is required.
" A minimum of two (2) years management experience and one (1) year leadership experience within the last five (5) years is also required.
" Candidates must have a minimum of three (3) years' experience in an Acute Care setting.
" Proven ability to supervise, support, and guide nursing staff;
" Proven ability to work independently and exercise considerable judgment and initiative in performing duties;
" Successful completion of management course or willingness to complete (within timeframe designated by employer);
" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.

Duties (Included but not limited to):
" Plans, organizes, manages and evaluates nursing programs and services for the Inpatient Units;
" Provides leadership and guidance to members of the nursing team;
" Implements and follow evidence-based practices to guide clinical care;
" Develops policies and procedures;
" Assists in formulating the annual budget for service area;
" Responsible for controlling supplies and maintaining budgets including overtime relief;
" Assists the Regional Director of Acute Care with determining long and short term staffing needs, makes recommendations for transfers, disciplinary actions, and promotions;
" Collaborates with the Regional Director of Acute Care and staff in setting goals and objectives for the nursing department;
" Monitors staff needs, actively recruits and interviews staff;
" Completes, submits and authorizes payroll for the nursing units;
" Responsible for preparing performance evaluations in accordance with the authority's performance evaluation program including attendance management issues;
" Complete and submit reports (including month end and budget variance) and ensure quality assurance activities are completed;
" Completes audits to ensure sustainability of the LGH Model of Nursing Clinical Practice;
" Manage CSRS, PIERS, RASMAS and Nursing Workload tool;
" Other related duties as required.

Salary:
" 75 hours biweekly; variable shifts (on-call may be required).

Hours of Work:
" In accordance with the HAY Management Pay Plan plus the applicable Labrador Allowance. Subject to
Classification.
