Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have a full-time opportunity for an Senior Integration Architect. This role can be based out of one our main offices including: Stellarton, NS; Mississauga, ON; Alberta, AB.

Here's where you'll be focusing:

As a Senior Integration Architect with Sobeys, you will:

A typical day would involve:

  • Provide an expert knowledge of technical and middleware/API architecture, and serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to operations and application development teams on those topics (REST, SOAP, and other modern integration patterns.)
  • Review business drivers needs and strategies with Business and Application Architects to understand implications for technical and middleware architecture.
  • Prepare middleware solution architecture deliverables in accordance with enterprise standards and methodologies and consistent with the target business architecture.
  • Communicate that vision and ensure it is realized by the Integration Delivery Team.
  • Provide input to the development of project initiation documents, including the definition of objectives, scope, approach, and deliverables.
  • Identify and communicate risks (business, application, technical) associated with middleware component or application implementation
  • Uplift Integration Capabilities within the team in defining policy and process
  • Establishes and Enforces API/Integration standards and provides mentorship to the cross-functional teams as needed
  • Develop Reference Architectures.

You are:

  • Knowledgeable applied mathematics, statistics, data visualization and data modeling.
  • Sound background in Database, Cloud Computing Design and Data Lake, Data Fabric Architecture.
  • Information management and data processing on multiple platforms.
  • Effective at Data Modeling.
  • A leader in fundamental Data Warehouse knowledge.
  • Experienced in Cloud architecture and toolsets.
  • Capable of communicating in MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint.

You have:

  • Bachelor's degree with Information Systems exposure (a Major in; Computer Science, Science, or Engineering).
  • At least 12 years professional Information Technology experience in designing, developing, and supporting Enterprise grade application solutions.
  • At least 8 years hands-on in the Integration/Middleware experience in Solutioning, Developing, Supporting API's and/or Integrations using tools such as TIBCO, MuleSoft, IBM MQ, Data stage.
  • At least 3 years' hands-on solutions architecture experience designing various Integration standards.

Skills Required:

  • Architecture (TOGAF).
  • Data Governance, Data Stewardship, Data Modeling.
  • Creative analytical and problem solving capabilities.
  • Effective researcher and visionary.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to realize outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (facilitation, negotiation, conflict resolution) at all levels.
  • Ability to translate technical ideas/designs to multiple audiences, including Executives.
  • Thorough understanding of and experience with multiple SDLC methods such as waterfall, SCRUM, and/or Agile.
  • Team player. Proven ability to work effectively within a large organization that operates using a matrix organization
  • Ability to communicate trade-offs and transactional states with technical and business teams.
  • Ability to make architecture changes in a dynamic Agile environment.
