Accounting Clerk II
Permanent Full Time
Location: Happy Valley - Goose Bay

Reporting to the Manager of Client Services, this position is primarily responsible for trust accounting functions for the Long-Term Care (LTC) and will be located in the Finance office in Happy Valley Goose Bay, NL.

Qualifications:

" Graduation from high school, supplemented by the successful completion of a two-year Business Diploma Program
" Considerable knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices.
" Recent and relevant experience in an accounting environment.
" Experience in computerized accounting systems and trust accounting is preferred.
" Experience, Meditech, Excel and/or Word would be an asset.
" Ability to work with minimum supervision and meet monthly deadlines.
" Strong communication skills.
" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.

Duties and Responsibilities: (Included but not limited to)

" In collaboration with Financial Assessor's, setup of trust accounts and processing of long-term care clients' monthly care and accommodation charges upon admission.
" Collect and process clients' funds; administer funds on behalf of Trustee clients such as authorizing purchases, processing payment of invoices on behalf of clients through the Trust Accounts.
" Assist LTC clients with filing of annual tax returns.
" Submit required monthly reports to LHC Financial Services and other appropriate agencies.
" Liaise with clients' families throughout the region.
" Perform other related duties as assigned.

Salary:

" CG-26 of the NAPE HS salary scale, $24.06 to $26.63 per hour, plus the applicable Labrador Allowance.

Hours of Work:

" Monday to Friday, 75 hours biweekly.
