OFFICE OF THE PROVOST & VICE-PRESIDENT ACADEMIC
The Office of the Provost and Vice-President Academic is responsible for all academic matters at the University of New Brunswick's two main campuses in Fredericton and Saint John and the Moncton site and drives the academic mission of the University toward the strategic goals of the Toward 2030 Strategic Plan. The Provost and Vice-President Academic oversees and leads the university-wide activities of the three Vice-Provost Offices and Deans.

Additional Working Conditions:
- This position can be located on either the Fredericton or Saint John Campus.
- Ability to travel frequently between both the Fredericton and Saint John Campus.
- Frequently requires long hours, evening/weekend activities.
Salary Range: $73,560 - $102,977 per annum
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Provost & Vice-President Academic (Provost), the Senior Executive Officer & Advisor to the Provost supports the overall goals of the bi-campus Office of the Provost & Vice-President Academic. This position serves as the primary strategic lead on all portfolios, projects and initiatives led by the Provost and provides confidential strategic and tactical advice to the Provost.
- Advise the Provost in determining and shaping priorities and developing accountability frameworks.
- Research, prioritize and determine the appropriate course of action, referral or response on matters, including issues of a confidential/sensitive nature.
- Collaborate to identify and develop plans to address strategic and structural barriers and challenges to the "One UNB" model and enhance bi-campus operations.
- Build and foster relationships of trust and accountability across the university and with key stakeholders.
- Develop processes and mechanisms that enhance, facilitate, and standardize workflows and decision-making, working collaboratively with the Provost, Vice-Provosts and Deans.
- Serve as strategic advisor to the Provost on all matters related to the Office.
- Participate in senior-level discussions to formulate strategies for the Provost's goals and UNB vision.
- Act as liaison within the Office of the Provost for internal and external issues and crisis management.
- Oversee large-scale project management initiatives undertaken by Vice-Provost offices.
- Work closely with the Office of the President on issues management, special requests, etc.
- Oversee preparation of documents and materials needed for Provost meetings and files.
- Review correspondence for the Provost's signature.
- Coordinate the review of key written communications/presentations and speaking points.
- Serve as Provost's representative or designate on internal and external committees, task forces or activities, as required.
- Manage staff workload and oversee operations and management of the Office of the Provost.
- Manage and oversee budget of the Office of the Provost. Prepare annual budget submissions.
- Undertake special initiatives and projects as determined by the Provost including complex and sensitive files.
- Other duties or projects as required by Provost.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Master's degree or equivalent in a related field.
- 5 years of professional experience in senior leadership, management, and/or strategic advisor in a large and complex organization.
