What you will be doing…
The Student Finance Lead is responsible for supporting the Manager, Student Finance and Accounting with the management of college-wide student accounts. Directly responsible for managing a staff complement of two and providing operational and procedural advice related to student tuition and fees across the college. This role is responsible for the reconciliation of multiple balance sheet and student fee accounts such as student health insurance, Metro Upass, and student association fees as well as completing various year-end related reconciliations and adjustments. This position will also support the Manager, Student Finance and Accounting with government reporting such as the T2202 and T4A tax form preparation.
Qualifications and Occupational Experience:
- The minimum educational qualification for this position is a university degree in business with a concentration in accounting or finance.
- You have a minimum of5 years of recent and related occupational experience in accounting, finance, or higher education.
- You have previous direct management experience
- You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, E-mail, Excel and Peoplesoft (or similar accounting software).
- You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology to create an exceptional student experience
