Join our team - Program Manager, School of Information Technology!

The Program Manager, School of Information Technology is an essential member of the University of Fredericton's academic leadership team. This individual will provide operational, administrative, and strategic leadership for programs in our newly formed School of Information Technology. The position requires an individual who is adept at program development, student success initiatives, accreditation standards, faculty development, and fostering academic excellence.

Responsibilities

Program Development & Maintenance:

  • Develop, evaluate, and update curricula for I.T. programs, ensuring alignment with academic standards and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with faculty and industry professionals to ensure programs are current, relevant, and of high quality.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance program delivery and student outcomes.

Faculty Management & Development:

  • In conjunction with the Dean of Academics, oversee faculty hiring, orientation, development, and evaluation within the programs.
  • Address faculty concerns and mediate issues as they arise.

Student Success Initiatives:

  • Monitor program enrollment, retention, and graduation rates, proposing strategies for improvement.
  • Collaborate with student support services to ensure the holistic development and success of students.

Accreditation & Compliance:

  • Ensure that programs meet and maintain accreditation standards.
  • Support programmatic accreditation processes, including self-studies, site visits, and reporting.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to provide necessary data and reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, alumni, and other potential partners.
  • Collaborate with marketing and recruitment teams to promote the programs and attract prospective students.

Miscellaneous Duties:

  • Participate in university committees and initiatives as required.
  • Collaborate with the Dean of Academics in strategic planning, assessment, and program development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as needed.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related computer science field; a Doctorate will be considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in higher education, with a focus on program management or academic leadership.
  • Familiarity with accreditation processes and standards in higher education.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in the use of technology in academic settings.
