Registered Nurse IB - Long Term Care
Temporary Full Time
Location: John M Gray LTC, St. Anthony
(PCN: 55149RP2)
The primary purpose of this position is to work as a member of a nursing team providing a high standard of care to patients at the Long Term Care and in accordance with the LG Model of Nursing Clinical Practice. The employee is responsible for ensuring a safe environment for clients, families, co-workers, and themselves and reports to the Resident Care Manager.
Qualifications:
" Graduation from an approved/recognized School of Nursing program is required;
" Current and continuing practicing licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL) is required;
" Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR);
" Breastfeeding education or willingness to complete within specified timeframe;
" The successful applicant will be required to submit a Satisfactory Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check;
Duties: (Included but not limited to)
" Organizes, plans, implements, and evaluates the plan of care for assigned clients;
" Participates in the auditing process as required;
" Documents as per professional and organizational standards;
" Administers medication and participates in Medication Reconciliation;
" Participates in the orientation, mentorship, and perceptoring of staff;
" Represents nursing on various committees as required;
" Participates in quality assurance initiatives as requested/required;
" Practice independently according to professional and organizational standards;
" Acts as a liaison between the client and other healthcare providers;
" Monitors, participates, and ensures MDS is completed and up to date as per staff assignment;
" May be required to provide support to other departments in emergency situations;
" Participates in CSRS process as necessary;
" Provides leadership support to members of the nursing team;
" Other related duties as required;
Salary:
" NS-30 of the NLNU salary scales $40.36 to $50.24 per hour;
Hours of Work:
" 75 hours Bi-weekly; variable shifts.
