Role Location: Moncton, NB

Atlantic Lottery (AL) is seeking an innovative, self-motivated, and talented individual to work as an Solutions Architect located in Moncton, NB (Office or Hybrid). The Solutions Architect will act as the subject matter expert and be responsible for the Strategic architecture direction related to various projects and emergent technology solutions.

Responsibilities

Enterprise Architecture: Contributes to the development of Atlantic Lottery's enterprise architecture framework (standards, principles, guidelines, and documentation), guiding the development of business and IT solutions.

EA Planning & Strategy: Develops and documents enterprise architecture strategies and roadmaps, contributing to business plans. Proposes enterprise architecture initiatives supporting business requirements, technology lifecycle management and regulatory requirements. Create, maintain, and update application life cycle management view working closely with business and other architects.

Portfolio Planning: Assist in scoping and sizing initiatives, by performing technical assessments of concepts/initiatives to determine business, financial and operational benefits and/or impacts of new product and service offerings.

Delivery Architecture: Be the technical subject matter expert (technical lead) on business and technology initiatives for internal teams (development, business, testing, and project management) and third-party vendors throughout the project or product lifecycle producing architectural artifacts such as, solution vision and technical implementation plans.

Business Architecture: The business architect's scope of activities includes helping the organization achieve targeted business outcomes related to growing revenue, optimizing costs, and mitigating risks. Focus on development of the business strategy and business architecture of the organization.

Cloud/Integration Architecture: The Application Portfolio includes systems that we be on premise, in the cloud and/or utilizing SaaS solutions where warranted. The architect requires the proper knowledge to determine which product and their respective hosting model while designing the solution.

Data Architecture: The Architect plays a role in designing and managing enterprise data management frameworks, interpreting business requirements into technical requirements, and collaborating with various stakeholders to optimize data utilization while ensuring integrity.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Master's or bachelor's degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, system analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in at least three disciplines, such as business, information, solution or technical architecture, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management or operations in a multitier environment.
  • Expert knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics.
  • Strong awareness and understanding of player-based product, sales and business development, and related social, political, technological, and economic factors that impact the gaming business.
  • Experience working with business, operating and financial models, cost-benefit analysis, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Insight into information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and Enterprise Architect and ITIL frameworks.
  • Understanding of various operating models such as project-centric and product-centric and different types of agile principles, methodologies, and frameworks, especially those designed to be scaled at the enterprise level.
  • Must be 19 years of age or older to apply.

  • Excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills. Organizationally savvy, with situational and contextual intelligence of the political climate of the enterprise and how to navigate obstacles and politics.
  • Balances the long-term ("big picture") and short-term implications of individual decisions and organization goals.
  • Strong consulting skills such as targeted communications, engagement management, stakeholder management and business development.
  • Estimates the impacts of Enterprise Architect alternatives and applies multiple solutions to business problems.
  • Rapidly comprehends the functions and capabilities of new technologies.
  • Ready to think, behave and act in an innovative consulting manner to drive the organization's business strategies.
  • Understands and speaks the language of the business. Excellent written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
