JOB TYPE: Temporary part-time

SCHEDULE: Day, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: French essential and spoken English

JOB SUMMARY:

The incumbent is responsible for providing administrative support to the family doctor, while providing effective daily operations of the Family Medicine Unit in collaboration with the adminsitrative support team in place. The incumbent provides a variety of administrative support services, including office, reception and secretarial duties. The incumbent schedules appointments, welcomes patients, receives and transfers calls, manages billing, prepares forms and keeps databases and statistics up to date, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED);
  • Recognized postsecondary secretarial or office administration training (two-year program);
  • Any other combination of training and experience deemed relevant and equivalent could be considered;
  • One to three years' experience in a medical secretary position (experience in a health-related field considered a definite asset);
  • Advanced skills in office practices and modern technologies and with information technology (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Meditech, Outlook and comfortable in the Windows environment);
  • Sense of responsibility;
  • Strong skills in planning, organizing, prioritizing, managing own time, and meeting deadlines;
  • Tact in interpersonal relationships;
  • Courtesy and helpfulness;
  • Discretion and respect for confidentiality;
  • Initiative, creativity, ability to adapt to change and positive attitude;
  • Flexibility in terms of working hours (if needed);
  • Very good performance and attendance profile;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned work;
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, the Network's management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Adherence to the Network's confidentiality rules.
