The Early Childhood Development division is responsible for the development and implementation of the Curriculum éducatif des services de garde francophones du Nouveau-Brunswick, including the 90-hour online course "Introduction à la petite enfance" and the Curriculum éducatif collaborative assessment tool.
What you will do:
The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development is currently seeking a Family Support Services Coordinator to work on the Early Childhood Services team in the District scolaire francophone du Nord-Ouest. The Family Support Services Coordinator is responsible for promoting early childhood programs to increase community awareness and to educate parents and guide them towards available programs and services for supporting their children's development.
The key responsibilities of the position are:
- Collecting data according to key process indicators and planned performance measures.
- Helping develop communication tools and promoting them to families and our partners.
- Maintaining a directory of public and community programs and services to support child development.
- Maintaining a directory of families seeking information, etc.
- Referring families to programs and services for their children.
- Helping develop and administer a survey for families and our partners.
- Maintaining positive relationships with the various government and community partners involved.
- Communicating effectively with families and early childhood professionals.
- Supporting the initiatives of the Early Childhood Services team.
- Other related duties.
Who you are:
You are proficient with communication software and social media platforms and their use in communications. You demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, leadership, initiative and creativity. You engage in community networking to promote early childhood services. You are client-oriented and demonstrate respect for the values of the New Brunswick public service.
Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:
Need to have:
- Bachelor's degree in education, information/communications, public relations or related field and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the fields of early childhood, education, or community programming. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Strong entrepreneurial spirit.
- A strong knowledge of the Office 365 suite of software.
- Experience using communication software and social media like Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), etc.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and excellent command of spoken and written French. Please state your language capability.
- Valid driver's licence.
Written and spoken competence in French is required. Please state your language capability.
Nice to have:
- Thorough knowledge of the early childhood sector, early learning and childcare facilities, and our partners.
- Excellent customer service skills.

Wage:
Pay Band 3: $49,660 - $69,394 annually.
Work environment:
- Office location: 298 Martin St., Edmundston, NB.
- Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15-4:30.
