The College is currently seeking a dynamic and competent individual for the position of Instructor, Social Services Community Worker. This is a Term employment opportunity, for the period of September 2023 to June 2026, located at Tobique First Nations (Neqotkuk).
As part of the School of Arts, Community and Protective Services and reporting to the Academic Chair, the Instructor, Social Services Community Worker is responsible for planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders, and support applied research efforts in social science; as well as other related duties.
Specific instructional areas and courses within the program may include but are not limited to:
- Introduction to Psychology
- Introduction to Sociology
- Lifespan Development
- Mental Health Foundations
- Dimensions of Wellness
- Professional Practice and Ethics
- Research Methods in Social Sciences
- Other courses related to the field of social sciences
The successful incumbent will be willing and able to integrate innovative technology and interactive student learning techniques into teaching practices.
- Two-year diploma or degree in social sciences or related discipline
- Recent and related work experience in the field of social sciences
- Preference may be given to candidates who have experience teaching in a post- secondary environment in a blended delivery format
- Preference may be given to candidates who have a minimum of five (5) years of recent and related experience in the field of social sciences.
- Preference may be given to those registered with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers
- Preference may be given to candidates with knowledge of Indigenous cultures, communities, customs, practices and communication styles
- Highly flexible with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to navigate and build relationships effectively throughout the organization.
- Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Self-motivated, service and results oriented.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a team.
- A desire for continuous learning and growth.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

- A competitive salary range of bi-weekly salary $2,058.00 to $2,900.00. Successful candidates may be eligible for a higher maximum step, up to $3,167.00, based on their level of post-secondary education.
