Interist, Permanent Full-TimeInternal Medicine, James Peyton Memorial Regional Hospital, Gander, NL
Definition of work: Joined by a team of physicians, technologists, and nurses to provide the required services at one of the Authority's referral centres, the successful physician will be expected to provide the full scope of Internal Medicine services which include [but are not limited to] inpatient consultation, emergency and critical care on-call services, and outpatient clinics [inclusive of diabetes clinics and exercise stress testing]. The participation in coverage for the Dialysis Unit is optional. The coverage of on-call commitments, including weekends and holidays, are shared appropriately amongst all Internists. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.
Required qualifications:
* Eligible for registration and licensure as an Internist with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador
* Satisfy the credentialing requirements of Central Health's Discipline of Internal Medicine
* A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance
* A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority
Hours of work: 75 hours bi-weekly; plus on-call obligations
