Job Description

The Central Residential Services Board (CRSB) is established to provide a community based, home-like living arrangement and to support residents with intellectual disabilities, and to provide physical and human resources to foster the overall health and well-being of these residents.

Work involves providing nursing care and support in all aspects of daily living to residents of the co-operative program. The successful candidate will be committed to safety and will partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements.

We are seeking Full time and part time Licensed Practical Nurses for providing nursing care and support, safety and security of individuals with intellectual disabilities in order to address their overall emotional, physical, nutritional, medical, mental and social well-being.

Job duties will include:
- Implements Resident Support Plans consistently and accurately to promote skill development and meaningful daily activities
- Supervises residents in structured and unstructured activities, assists them to use free time constructively, and actively participates in daily routines
- Follows appropriate interventions for behavior and incidents
- Implements prescribed medical treatment plans
- Participates in therapeutic recreational activities to promote skill development and meaningful daily activities
- Consistently follows Board policy and procedure
- Mentors new and junior employees
- Promotes the health and safety of residents and co-workers

STARTING SALARY: $25.01/ hr

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from High School with a diploma recognized by the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Education
- Graduation from an approved LPN program
- Currently registered with the College for Licensed Practical Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
- A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position
- A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority
- Team player
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Demonstrated Client focus
- Demonstrated good work ethic and attendance.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities
