Home First Personal Care Attendant
Temporary Full Time (1 position)
Location: Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL

Labrador-Grenfell Health is looking to hire a highly motivated, energetic, compassionate Personal Care Attendant for the Happy Valley-Goose Bay area. The Personal Care Attendant will work with the Community Support team and under the supervision of the Community Supports Coordinator, reporting to the Community Support Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for providing a high standard of care to clients within their home setting in areas served by the Labrador Health Centre. Duties include providing support to maintain individuals in their own homes; provide personal care, home management, and respite services. The incumbent is responsible to ensure a safe environment for clients, families, co-workers, and themselves.

Qualifications:

" Graduation from high school or equivalent;
" Completion of a recognized Personal Care Attendant program or equivalent;
" Valid Class 5 Driver's License;
" Successful completion of Emergency First Aid and Basic Life Support (CPR) of willingness to obtain;
" Completion of Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) and Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI);
" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.

Duties (include but not limited to):

" Providing personal care to clients in their own home;
" Provides respite services to families;
" Provides home management to clients in their homes;
" Documents according to organizational policies and guidelines;
" Participates in quality assurance/improvement activities;
" Transports clients as required;
" Work alone;
" Travel;
" Other related duties required.
Salary:

" CG-24 of the NAPE-HS salary scales $21.98 to $24.21 per hour plus the applicable Labrador Allowance.
Hours of Work:

" 75 hours biweekly, variable shifts.
