EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Domestic Worker
Temporary Call-In
Location: Forteau, NL

Reporting to the On-Site Manager or designate, the primary purpose of this position is to provide an acceptable level of environmental cleanliness. The Domestic Worker carries out duties which ensure that the environment occupied by LGH services is free from dust, soil, smears, dried splashes, litter, body wastes and other contaminates.

Qualifications:
" Completion of High School or any equivalent combination of experience and schooling;
" Sufficient strength and conditioning to perform extensive and continuing janitorial tasks;
" Satisfactory Certificate of Conduct is required;
" Current certification of Standard First Aid and CPR or willingness to obtain;
" Successful completion of WHMIS course or willingness to obtain;
" Successful completion of Transportation of Dangerous Goods or willingness to obtain;
" Class V drivers license;
" Willingness to enroll in and complete the basic course in Environmental Services;
" Ability to work effectively with co-workers and other departments;
" Initiative to meet the written Goals & Objectives of the department using methods and products approved by the department under minimal supervision.

Duties (include but not limited to):
" Waste removal, including items like Sharpe containers;
" Performs manual tasks in sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, and other household duties as per daily, weekly and monthly schedules and as otherwise assigned;
" Cleaning of clinic facilities and/or designated L-G Health property;
" Works in a safe and sanitary manner;
" Uses all chemicals in accordance with WHMIS regulation and in-house training;
" Cleans individual rooms, dusts, and does general housekeeping;
" Ordering laundry/housekeeping supplies;
" Participate in applicable in-service and continuing education programs as offered and/or required;
" Collect garbage as scheduled and as required;
" Cleaning of laundry equipment; Folding and distributing linen for use;
" Cleaning of Dirty Utility Room walls and floors;
" Sorting of clean and dirty linens;
" Other related duties as required.
Salary:

" CG-19 of the NAPE-HS salary scales $20.05 to $21.64 per hour, plus applicable Labrador Allowance.

Hours of Work:

" 75 hours biweekly (variable shifts)
