Job Summary
Successful candidates will work in one of Eastern Health's most innovative and cutting-edge services. Registered Nurses in the Cardiac Cath Lab program are required to scrub, circulate, monitor, and prep patients for catheterizations, angioplasties, electrophysiology studies, and implantable cardioverter-defibrillator insertions. Our program will provide a comprehensive orientation, career growth, educational opportunities, and advancements to other specialized cath lab areas. Registered nurses work alongside other multidisciplinary team members in a dynamic and rewarding role that makes the difference in patient lives when it matters the most.
Job Demands

Constantly moves/lifts up to 10 lbs., regularly moves/lifts up to 25 lbs. and occasionally is required to restrain/reposition/move/lift up to 30 lbs. Pushes/pulls up to medium force.
Constantly stands/walks and works in awkward or cramped positions to assist with procedures.
Constantly uses fine finger/precision, auditory, sensory and visual concentration to provide and conduct risk assessments, observe/monitor patients, to complete documents, follow directions, administer medications, etc.
May be subject to time pressures/deadlines and subject to lack of control over work pace.
Job Qualifications
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing is required.
Current and continuing practicing licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL) is required.
Current BLS certifications is required.
ACLS certification is an asset.
Minimum of two years of experience within the last four years working as a Registered Nurse in adult Cardiac/Critical Care, adult Emergency, or on the adult Post Anesthetic Care Unit (PACU) is required.
Thorough knowledge and skills in adult cardiac/critical care nursing.
Proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation, hemodynamic assessment and monitoring, care and management of acute unstable coronary patients, use of temporary cardiac pacing, and administration of intravenous inotropes and vasodilators.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.
Demonstrated competency in organizational, leadership and interpersonal skills.
Evidence of active participation in professional growth and development.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
