Hospice Fredericton has an two openings for Casual LPNs. We are a non-profit organization providing support to individuals and family members during end of life. We currently have openings on the care team within Hospice House - a 10 bed residential hospice facility located in the Fredericton downtown core.

• The LPN plans, directs, and evaluates total nursing care and management of other care team members.
• Practices in a manner consistent with professional, ethical, and legal standards of practice
• Responsible for communicating patient status/needs to Physicians and providing symptom control to patients based on patient focused assessments.
• Maintains standards of accurate and concise documentation and reporting.
• Competent in all areas of medication administration, assessment skills, treatments, and dressings
• Assumes role of charge nurse and provide leadership to care team and oversee the provision of quality health services, respecting the patient's right to individualized planning of end of life care.
• Provides ongoing teaching, education, support, and grief counselling to patients/families and staff in a caring non-judgmental manner.
• Adheres at all times to the policies and procedures as outlined by Hospice Fredericton and NB Health and Safety Act.
• Responsible for seeking out learning opportunities and establishing self-directed goals to advance nursing knowledge, skills, and professional development.
• Delegates tasks and duties to other members of care team in a caring professional manner
• Facilitates teamwork among the care team and foster a positive work environment.
• Acts as an advocate on behalf of patients, families, and co-workers.
• Able to provide safe quality care at all times.

• Active Registration with ANBLPN
• Experience in palliative cary symptom managment
• LEAP course is considered an asset

• Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
