Salary: To be commensurate with qualifications and experience in the range of $53,670 - $65,730 per annum.

Acadia seeks to fill a Sports Information and Communications Coordinator position to manage communications, content creation and webcasting for the Department of Athletics. As part of the Athletics Department, you will be joining staff who are passionate about the work they do and how they contribute to Acadia's strong varsity athletics program.
Under the direction of the Associate Director of Athletics Operations, you will develop, implement, manage, and evaluate communications, sport information, and digital content and production needs for Acadia Athletics. You will have a key role in developing communication and creative digital content strategies in support of the overall objectives and mission of the Athletics Department. You will be integral in the project management, execution, and delivery of Department communications, advertising, promotion, branding, content creation, video production, statistical analysis, and record-keeping. The position will work closely with the Brand and Marketing Department, University Communications, other campus communicators, and external media relations to enhance the overall reputation of Acadia by promoting the activities and achievements of our Athletics program.
In this role, you will be responsible for sport information and webcast requirements supporting varsity athletics game day management, which will include hiring and managing casual staff, statistics, live streaming and game reporting, as well as media relations. Additionally, you will coordinate all varsity communications and sport information requirements for AUS and U SPORTS.
Applicants must be able to work a flexible schedule. This position requires significant evening and weekend work from August - March with occasional work off campus, as required.
- We are seeking a candidate who has a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years related experience in areas such as public relations, media relations, communications, journalism, recreation, etc.
- Experience working in an athletic department and/or for an established sport organization would be an asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience developing and implementing social media campaigns specific to the appropriate platform, audience, style, and types of content.
- Ability to create, build and maintain relationships and collaboration with internal and external units.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills with the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Applicants must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and comfortable working in a technology supported environment. Experience with graphic design and video software programs would be an asset.
- Applicants must be able to work a flexible schedule which will include evenings and weekends. Some travel will be required.
