APS is an established municipal, industrial and commercial equipment supply company which has been successfully supplying marketplaces in the Atlantic Canada Region since 1970. We have an immediate opportunity in our Dartmouth location for a full time Purchaser to handle procurement of a wide variety of items sourced from Canada and the USA.
Primary Duties:
Issue purchase orders for goods and services in adherence to APS purchasing policies and standard guidelines;
Review requisition orders for accuracy;
Track and manage open orders to ensure timely delivery:
· Review order acknowledgements for accuracy; update PO in SAP.
· Communicate with suppliers to resolve delivery issues, order discrepancies, etc.
· Collaborate internally to update sales team and inventory control manager with guidance on timelines, supply chain issues, etc.
· Communicate with customers as required to relay delivery updates.
Maintain established inventory levels by reviewing suggested re-order reports;
Work closely with Accounts Payable to co-ordinate payment to suppliers;
Support the Inventory Control manager as required (assign part numbers, etc.)
Establish and maintain strategic relationships with vendors/suppliers and freight/carriers.
Various other clerical and administrative functions as required (filing, preparing reports, etc.)
Requirements:
Basic proficiency in MS Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel;
Previous experience using SAP for purchasing and inventory would be an asset;
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team;
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Able to prioritize with high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities;
Previous experience would be an asset.
