Atlantic Lottery (AL) is seeking a Junior Audit and Risk Professional located in Moncton, NB.
Reporting to the Audit and Risk Professional, as a Junior Audit and Risk Professional you support the execution of the annual audit plan and provide assurances that ALC's system of internal controls, risk management and governance processes are operating in an effective and efficient manner. You will be expected to perform audit plan tasks and provide support and back-up for the Draw Audit functions.

Audit planning: Contributes to the improvement of risk management and control systems by identifying and evaluating significant risk exposures via audit work programs and testing.
Audit fieldwork: Gathers audit evidence, performs audit sampling and prepares working papers and supporting documentation to demonstrate the results of audit procedures; examines and analyzes documents to verify accuracy of computations and uniform application of policies, procedures, and acceptable standards; assesses efficiency, effectiveness and/or compliance of business processes and recommends opportunities for improvement.
Audit reporting: Presents opinions on significant issues to management and promotes change where necessary; reports and recommends changes and process improvements as a result of consulting with and advising the business channels and divisions.
Other audit activities: Generates and distributes audit communications related to outstanding audit findings and incorporates updates from management to the records; provides back-up for Draws Audit function; performs ad hoc special assignments as requested by Internal Audit or Senior Management including (but not limited to) investigations and divisional initiatives such as process improvement initiatives.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business is preferred.
- Ideally, 3+ years with progressive responsibility in a business environment.
- Can effectively cope well with change.
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to present conclusions and build consensus.
- Uses well-developed decision-making skills to arrive at valid conclusions/actions.
- Must be 19 years of age or older to apply.
Professional Skills:
- Understands and applies current internal auditing and risk assessment tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with professional standards, regulatory guidelines, and internal policies.
- Critical thinking skills such as anticipating events, problems, and opportunities as well as developing, communicating, and supporting independent views on significant issues.
- Proficient in the use of appropriate technology and software such as Windows based software programs.
- Solid understanding of management principles and strategies and the ability to evaluate business practices encountered.
- Strives to enhance own knowledge and skills on an ongoing basis; shows enthusiasm for learning opportunities.
- Experience in the lottery industry is an asset.
