The Chapman Group is happy to be assisting their awesome client PEI Preserve Company in finding their next General Manager. At PEI Preserve Company, we're passionate about preserving the fruit, tradition, and memories of Prince Edward Island. We've been doing it for over 35 years, and we're looking for a General Manager to help us continue our legacy. We're seeking a jambitious self-starter who will take pride in working with a family-oriented business. As our General Manager, you will oversee the company's day-to-day operations. This includes managing budgets, overseeing HR and service delivery, and monitoring profitability to ensure proper business function. But more than that, you'll be a passionate advocate for hospitality and service, committed to brand management and business growth. You are outgoing, comfortable speaking in front of groups and are able to spread our corporate brand, vision, and identity into all that you do.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations of the business with the goal to exceed budget while preserving profitability and customer experience

• Execute growth strategies and refine best practices as required

• Oversee forecasts and manage budgets to maintain established ratios

• Support human resources to screen, hire and onboard new team members

• Collaborate with a team of managers to ensure efficient operation of the business

• Support team achievement, both professionally and personally

• Work with the ownership team on the strategic vision including monitoring, refining and improving management strategies

• Evaluate productivity and performance and implement methods for improvement

• Create reports and provide information to stakeholders as required

• Ensure compliance with all required regulations, including health & safety, remittances, etc.

• Articulate and promote the brand, vision, and identity in all activities and interactions with customers and stakeholders

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education preferred and/ or a proven understanding of success in the service industry

• Management experience in a high growth, busy 50 + person service focused business

• Demonstrated competency in strategic planning and business development

• Working knowledge of cost analysis, fiscal management, and budgeting functions

• Ability to interact effectively with employees, clientele, and the local community

• Possess a natural ability to build and work within a team environment

• Strong problem-solving, delegation, coaching, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work a flexible schedule including some weekends and holidays

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including strong presentation skills

• Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines

• A passion for expanding and exploring the hospitality industry, eye for detail and commitment to product and guest service excellence

• Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment

• Must be entrepreneurial and have a strong desire to lead, mentor and succeed
