8-hours shifts - Monday to Friday
Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs

JOB SUMMARY:

The incumbent coordinates an interdisciplinary team in addition to providing, based on the stepped-care model, a full range of social work services to a clientele of children and youth presenting mental health and/or addiction issues. The social worker ensures, among other things, the clinical direction and the coordination of services in relation to the single-session therapy initiative.

The social worker is responsible for providing direct services to children and youth with mental health and/or addiction issues. Moreover, the social worker keeps up-to-date on the various community resources available and facilitates access to those resources for the client, family and natural support network.

The social worker's duties also include assessment, treatment, helping relationship, crisis intervention, case management, rehabilitation, and prevention. Moreover, the incumbent will provide clinical leadership, supervision and coordination of the clinical services delivered by the interdisciplinary team. The social worker is responsible for assigning clinical cases within the department and ensures that professionals comply with professional practice standards as well as the policies and procedures in force. The social worker works closely with the manager to ensure that the department runs smoothly.

These duties may be expanded based on Department of Health initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Social Work;
  • Master of Social Work considered an asset;
  • Member in good standing of the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers (NBASW);
  • At least three years' clinical experience in mental health and/or addiction services with children and youth;
  • Training on the stepped care model and single-session / one-at-a-time therapy or willingness to complete the training within a reasonable timeframe;
  • Interpersonal and organizational communication skills;
  • Strong collaborative and team spirit;
  • Ability to set priorities and tolerate stress;
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Flexibility, sound judgment and initiative;
  • Motivation and enthusiasm;
  • Adherence and participation in changes;
  • Good work history and favourable performance appraisals;
  • Good knowledge of computer tools and office automation applications or willingness to learn how to use them;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
  • Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalite Health.

Written and spoken competence in French and spoken competence in English are required.
