Reporting to the Director, Employee Engagement & Culture, we are seeking a creative, driven, and future-focused individual for the position of Manager, Talent Strategy. In this new and impactful role, you recognize that the labour market and practices are evolving rapidly and are driven to get ahead of the curve by finding progressive and impactful solutions to today and tomorrow's challenges. You see your future-self leading the development of a College-wide talent strategy where you have the ability to be innovative, forward thinking and strive to transform how NBCC attracts and retains talent!
In this role, you will spend your time accountable for and getting excited about:
- Leading, coaching, and elevating a team of Talent Strategists who are accountable for innovative internal and external talent sourcing and advising.
- Assessing current talent practices and processes with an eye for continuous improvement and automation initiatives.
- Supporting the development of the Employee Value proposition and aligning talent initiatives with NBCC's brand.
- Developing and ensuring the implementation of a College-wide talent strategy that addresses both current and future talent needs.
- Creating, building, and fostering candidate engagement, candidate pools, and healthy pipelines which anticipate and meet the needs of NBCC.
- Innovating new and creative ways of sourcing new talent while retaining and capitalizing on existing talent.
- Evolving and elevating NBCC's onboarding programming to enhance the employee experience.
- Supporting College-wide workforce planning initiatives.
- Fostering excellent team collaboration, with the ability to establish positive and strategic working relationships across a variety of diverse teams.
- Developing, monitoring, and managing budgets.
To be successful in the role of Manager, Talent Strategy you will already have a toolkit that includes:
- Relevant and related experience with full cycle recruitment, including hard-to-fill roles and contract assignments.
- An understanding of and practical skills in workforce planning.
- Experience providing leadership and managerial responsibilities to a diverse team, with a leadership style focused on cooperation, high performance, integrity, and fairness.
- Experience working with emerging technology related to recruitment, training, and development or interest and an aptitude for learning technology.
- Working proficiency with Office 365 Suite.
- An aptitude for data collection, management, interpretation, and utilization.
- An ability to be innovative and strategic in problem-solving.
- Demonstrated ability to take on an integrated, analytical, anticipatory, and proactive approach to Talent Management & Development.
It would be a bonus if you also had experience:
- Working within a unionized environment.
- Working in the education industry.
- Developing process automations using Office 365 suite of tools.
