To help support our continued growth, Mariner Innovations is recruiting a Cloud Implementation (Migration) Engineer with AWS experience to join our growing Infrastructure and Cloud Practice. In this role, you will be working with Mariner customers to deliver best of breed solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for the planning, implementation, and growth of the AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Oversee cloud data migration efforts, data synchronization services, and data migration appliance efforts.
  • Build, release, and manage the configuration of production systems.
  • Work alongside architecture and engineering teams to design and implement scalable software solutions.
  • Troubleshoot the system and solve problems across all platform and application domains.
  • Oversee pre-production acceptance testing to ensure the high quality of a company's services and products.
  • Ensure necessary system security by using best in class cloud security solutions.
  • Implement cloud migration techniques and workflows (on premise to Cloud Platforms).
  • Recommend process and architecture improvements.
  • Demonstrate experience with cloud migration technologies such as AWS SMS, TCO, and Cost analysis.
  • Demonstrate strong experience on hybrid cloud solutions and experience of integrating public cloud into tradition hosting/delivery models.
  • Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analysis, and prepare reports on all aspects of the critical facility operations and maintenance.
  • Plan the migration patterns to be used and spotting risks / challenges.
  • Conduct migrations from an on-premise environment to the cloud.
  • Ensure high-quality delivery metrics, reporting and business profitability.
  • Help to develop migration methodology & tooling.
  • Drive customer communication during critical events.

Qualifications

  • Computer Engineering or Computer Science degree, or similar education.
  • 10+ years of related experience in IT Industry.
  • Hands on experience in AWS migration using MGN, DMS, SCT and AWS Migration factory services.
  • Understanding of the Windows and Linux environment to migrate to AWS.
  • Experience with application transformation and modernization & data migrations projects.
  • Good understanding of Cloud "lift-and-shift" migrations with various source environments.
  • Strong Experience with hybrid cloud solutions and experience of integrating public cloud into traditional hosting/delivery models.
  • Strong experience in designing of the target AWS architecture to host applications in cloud and include high availability and auto scaling features.
  • Strong experience on AWS IAAS, PAAS, AWS Network, Security and basic knowledge on Linux and Windows Operating systems.
  • Experience with application transformation and modernization & data migrations projects.
  • Experience using database technologies like Oracle, MySQL, and SQL and understanding of NoSQL, MongoDB, etc.
  • Experience and technical understanding of large scale data center migrations
  • Hands-on experience in any of the areas:
    • Private virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware etc.)
    • Windows Server and Linux administration
    • DB administration
    • Backup and DR systems
    • P2V, V2V migration
    • Active Directory administration
    • CI/CD
  • Experience with performing discovery and assessment of customer's overall applications portfolio, IT and business priorities and customer insights to create a modernization roadmap.
  • Experience configuring environments for high availability, failover, and DR.
  • An understanding of writing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Experience in performance tuning, including load balancing, web servers, content delivery Networks (CDN), Caching, etc.
  • Strong knowledge on software development methodologies like Agile/Scrum.
  • Proficiency in script development and scripting languages.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
