Overview

Reporting to the Supervisor Energy & Utilities, the Facilities Management Department requires a Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Building Systems Technician (HVAC/R) with experience in maintenance and skilled tradesman work.

Qualifications

  • Applicants will have High School Graduation or equivalent, a Journeyman HVAC/R Red Seal Certification and reside within 25km radius of the University
  • Knowledge and experience of installation, repair and maintenance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems is required.
  • Knowledge and experience in building automation systems including Siemens Apogee (Insight) and/or Desigo CC software would be considered a valuable asset.
  • Must have the ability to perform semi-skilled work in areas other than those covered under his/her own certificate of qualification.
  • Must be skilled in the use and maintenance of hand, power tools, equipment and in the reading of technical drawings and instructions.
  • Must be able to apply formulas and conversion tables to job requirements and be computer literate.
