Assistant Merchant

An opportunity currently exists for an individual who would like a career in commercial building supply purchasing. If you have an entrepreneurial spirit with interest in negotiation and product category management, please apply for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a business plan that maximizes sales and profitability of your product categoriesacross all Kent locations. This includes among others, budgeting, pricing strategies and merchandising strategies.
- Work with current category managers at Kent to assure lines and assortment match the ICS brand and strategy
- Analysis of product and category performance
- Sourcing new products and vendors (tradeshows, vendor visits, on-line presentations)
- Negotiate vendor agreements ICS & Buying Group
- Identify new lines and vendors to support ICS growth plan
- Forecast sales and purchases
- Provide ICS Sales Team support

The successful candidate will report into to a Group Merchandise Manager (GMM) with in the Purchasing Department.
