The Bell Network and Technology Services (NTS) team uses emerging technologies, Agile and DevOps principles to design and build innovative solutions that enable Bell's communications services for businesses and consumers. We're looking for creative problem-solvers who are curious, collaborative and ready to be on the leading edge of technological transformation.

Position Description

Interacting closely with the Product Owner of the Service Fullfillment Devops team, you will be a prime actor of this team, collaborating and helping neighbour development teams to adopt and integrate with latest CI/CD software and DevOps practices while striving to help deliver value faster, in cadence. With your knowledge and experience, you will develop the key components required for environment automation and deployment so that we can help dev teams deliver new functionality faster in prod.

  • Key experience of DevOps/SRE best practices to enable highly available & reliable systems and processes
  • Key experience in enterprise grade application development with configuration propagation tools.
  • Someone enthusiastic who can quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, with a strong aptitude for innovation
  • 2+ years of software development
  • Able to deliver solutions that meet functional and non-functional (security, performance, reliability, usability, etc.) requirements.
  • Blend well into a skilled DevOps team of professionals that includes contractors.
  • A team player who can define, establish and share their long-term vision.
Core/Minimum Qualifications/Competencies :
  • You master the core technologies and languages used by our Devops team :
    • Python
    • Container platform: Red Hat Openshift/Kubernetes (oc / kubectl) and/or Docker, including writing Dockerfile's and designing, configuring and deploying images and other artifacts in production
    • Shell scripting (Perl, Shell, AWK)
    • Linux/RHEL
    • Configuration/Infrastructure/Pipeline as Code
    • GIT/Gitops
    • Jenkins
  • University degree in software/computer engineering/IT or equivalent
  • You are bilingual (French/English)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • You also have a solid background in one or more of these technology and principles used by our team :
    • Hybrid Cloud Deployments (GCP preferred for public cloud)
    • Tekton & ArgoCD and CNCF similar incubating and graduated projects
    • DevSecOps (CVE scanning of code/artifact/image, Vault integration, Secret management)
    • Micro-services software architecture (and RESTful APIs)
    • NoSQL/Document based and Oracle
    • Event-Driven architecture and Kafka
    • SonarCube/SonarLint
  • You have telecommunication knowledge (Access Network in particular)
  • You master Software Engineering best practices
  • You understand Agile, Lean and Scrum frameworks, and enterprise scaled framework like SAFE.
